About STEVENS SIGNATURE HOMES
Custom residential design rooted in place, Purpose, and people
At Stevens Signature Homes, we design custom residences that begin with listening
— to our clients, to the land, and to how a home is meant to be lived in.
Every project is client-centric and site-specific, shaped by your vision, your lifestyle, and the unique conditions of your property. The result is not a signature style imposed on a site, but a thoughtfully designed home that belongs exactly where it stands — and to the people who live within it.

A Thoughtful Alternative
to One-Size-Fits-All Design
Designing a custom home is a significant investment — financially, emotionally, and creatively. Many homeowners come to us seeking clarity and confidence in a process that often feels overwhelming or opaque.
Our role is to serve as a trusted design partner, helping clients:
Understand the implications of their decisions before construction begins
Visualize their home in three dimensions early in the process
Navigate complex site conditions with foresight rather than costly surprises
Create a home that feels intentional, personal, and enduring
We believe good residential design is not about novelty, trends, or excess — but about fit, proportion, and long-term livability.

A Collaborative, Client-Centered Design Process
Our design process is highly collaborative and built around communication, transparency, and trust.
Using advanced 3D modeling and interactive design tools, clients are able to:
Experience their home spatially before it is built
Explore design options in real time
Make informed decisions with greater confidence
Align design intent with construction realities
This approach reduces uncertainty, strengthens collaboration with builders and engineers, and helps ensure that the finished home reflects both your vision and your site.
Design Shaped by Place
We specialize in site-responsive residential design, particularly in regions with challenging terrain and natural beauty such as Lake Keowee and the Upstate of South Carolina.
Rather than forcing a preconceived plan onto a property, we study:
Topography and slope
Orientation, views, and solar exposure
Access, grading, and constructability
How the home relates to its surroundings over time
Each home is designed to work with the land — not against it.
A Foundation Built on Craft and Apprenticeship
My path into residential design was shaped by apprenticeship rather than formal credentials alone.
I spent over fifteen years apprenticing under my father, a lifelong residential designer and builder who himself apprenticed for five years under Frank Lloyd Wright. That lineage instilled a deep respect for:
Craft and proportion
Site-driven design
Learning by observation, iteration, and responsibility
While our work is firmly rooted in contemporary building methods and technology, that foundation continues to influence how we think about homes — as places to be carefully composed, thoughtfully built, and lived in for generations.
Independent by Design
Stevens Signature Homes is intentionally structured as a design-focused practice, working in close collaboration with builders, engineers, and consultants rather than attempting to control every aspect of the construction process.
This independence allows us to remain clear-eyed advocates for our clients — focused on design integrity, constructability, and long-term livability rather than production volume or proprietary systems.
By staying in the design lane, we are able to:
Prioritize thoughtful problem-solving over speed or standardization
Collaborate openly with trusted professionals
Align design intent with real-world budgets and construction methods
The goal is not authorship or control, but clarity — helping clients arrive at decisions that serve both their vision and the realities of building.
Who We Work With
We work best with clients who:
Value thoughtful design over trends
Want to understand the “why” behind decisions
Appreciate collaboration and clear communication
Are building a long-term home, not a short-term product
Whether you are building your primary residence, a retirement home, or a legacy property, our role is to help you navigate the process with confidence and clarity.
